Recommended Kerberos Installation Process for Debian Squeeze

Asked by [ Editor ]

On Debian Lenny I set up my systems to use Kerberos using this guide:

I was never able to get NFSv4 and Kerberos to work together, but I did get them working in isolation.

Since the upgrade of my server to Squeeze I’m getting errors every day in the logs like this:

May 31 20:48:37 lapin-bleu krb5kdc[1785]: ASREQ (1 etypes {1}) 192.168.0.15: PREAUTHFAILED: xxxx@XXXXXX.NET for krbtgt/XXXXXX.NET@XXXXXX.NET, Decrypt integrity check failed
May 31 20:50:01 lapin-bleu krb5kdc[1785]: preauth (timestamp) verify failure: Decrypt integrity check failed

Though kerberised telnet still works (some of the time). Having messed with a lot to try and get NFSv4/Krb working and post upgrade fiddling I think it’s best to start again.

Does anyone know a nice walk through of how to set it all up on a Debian Sqeeze system? and if so can they post the link here?

Thanks in advance.
