Because of bad linux support to my video card (sis 771/671 PCIE) I can't use graphics acceleration.
It seems that this feature is generally enabled by default in various media programs and that often leads me to trouble. For example, if I'm watching a movie or I'm using the webcam, moving/resizing the window of the program brings to a crash of X server and I have to login again.
I solved the problem only with VLC by removing the check mark under "accelerated video output (overlay)" in the "Video" menu, but what about other programs that I happen to use? Is there any way to globally disable this feature?
