Debian 6 RC2 install to official Debian 6

Asked by , Edited by vrkalak [ Moderator ]

I used the Debian 6 release 2 candidate installer. My source.lists are set to squeeze. What do I need to do to move/update to final Squeeze stable? Just change source.lists from “squeeze” to “stable”?

It is everything ok with that. There are two options for setting that name. First is name of distro, and second is type.
For example you can wrote there"squeeze". And when squeeze will be the stable distribution, you can change that name to “stable”. But in that case nothing will change :)

But I think, that you should stick with name distribution, becase it will be always the same distro that you have installed.
“stable”, “testing”, and “unstable” can change if there will be released new version.
