Ctrl-alt cursor keys works displays escape in Xorg

Asked by

I have problems under Xorg with the cursor keys.

Normally I switch workspaces with ctrl-alt + left/righ/up/down. Now it displays escape sequences instead of switching to another workspace.

This is an example: [1;7C

I upgraded recently and now I have wheezy (with mate, but I got the same results with gnome3).

I do not have a clue what to do and why I have this problem. I do not even know where to start with.
I tried restoring an old (used to be working) xorg.conf, but it did not help.

This is typically a function of your window manager. Try checking your keyboard bindings in settings.
