Best music streaming software for an ARM server?

Hello.

I tried using MPD for streaming music from my ARM server (SheevaPlug) but unsuccessfully. Also tried Subsonic, but Java keeps the server’s CPU at 100% when idle :D and Icecast2, also a no-go due to transcoding CPU impact.

Are there any good, easy to use, alternatives for a soundcard-less server? Or am I stuck with one of these?

Thanks!

Transcode elsewhere on another machine to mp3, flac or whatever; – then copy the files across to the Sheevaplug to serve for you.  Icecast may well then work for you

the thing is I have all my file (120 GB) as mp3, and IceCast2 wants them in OGG. I dont really feel like transcoding all of them for the sake of Icecast2…
