    I don’t believe Debian will ever mandate a graphical boot screen. The Debian project seems to focus on providing stable, well tested options, not mandating any particular way of doing things.


    Users that want such a thing can do apt-get install plymouth.

    Users who want someone to cherry-pick a selection of software for them are probably better off with one of the ‘curated’ Debian derivatives.
